Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I am excited about our 2nd annual Lifestyle Medicine Workshop designed for 27 hours of CME (valued at $750 offered for free through Loma Linda University)  to strengthen the new sub-speciality of Lifestyle Medicine. The big bonus of this “Vacation with a Purpose” scheduled for March 17 to 23 2019, is to have the accomplishment-oriented Executive Director Susan Benigas with us as well as the winning faculty team from last February  (John and Sally Kelly, Hans and Lily Diehl, Franco and Kay Marini)

This workshop will be limited to the first 40 enrollees.  It is directed towards professional (Health care) people and yet open to those interested in personal and professional growth.

MODERN KILLER DISEASES: Why they thrive and what you can do to turn them effectively around

.

This Retreat/Workshop will bring together some of the new concepts of Lifestyle Medicine, a new board- certified medical speciality that empowers people to utilize lifestyle as medicine centered around a more balanced lifestyle with a focus on a simpler diet, consistent exercise, adequate sleep and stress management. This approach has been validated with clinical research that has shown that many people with chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, essential hypertension, excess weight and heart disease can actually turn their diseases around with less dependence on medication, and where the turn-around begins in days.

Imagine you could not only eat your way into diabetes, but also eat your way out of diabetes! Or, imagine that adopting a mindful lifestyle could turn the aging process around and set your biological clock back a decade or more! You do not have to imagine because this is a genetic reality. We also know that cell age is a function of gene switches, not an inevitable biological process. Knowing this, will help you to think differently about health and disease and the power of making good lifestyle choices.

Sophisticated brain research has discovered the perfect formula of how to hijack your appetite. But it is time to learn how to take back control over your appetite and to turn life into living and loving with all your heart.

The new subspecialty of Lifestyle Medicine is growing in leaps and bounds as modern science reveals the amazing power of lifestyle changes to reverse circulation-related chronic diseases more quickly than was ever thought possible. While we all knew deep down that a healthy lifestyle was good for health, science is now revealing how intensive lifestyle changes can reverse chronic diseases in weeks. Join us to learn some of the amazing science turning medicine upside down. You can get your life back with some simple choices on how you live, eat, move and love.

As pioneers in the area of facilitating the reversal of many circulation-related chronic diseases through an effective lifestyle medicine approach, we are excited of being part of this retreat/workshop. The Sugar Beach resort, situated on an expansive beach on the Pacific, offers delicious plant-strong food, a competent and friendly staff and a splendid yet fairly secluded environment.

It is the ideal place for people who are looking for answers to our current health care crisis, where 86% of our US health care budget is now being devoured by the medical management of chronic diseases, such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Excess Weight and Heart Disease.  While our current high tech medical approach can often provide symptomatic relief through pills and procedures, effective cures and disease reversal are largely elusive. These can best be facilitated through intelligent lifestyle changes educationally motivated and discussed among like-minded people.

We are delighted for the strong endorsement of the thriving American College of Lifestyle Medicine for this retreat/workshop. It will be a vacation with a purpose.  It will be a time for Living, Growing and Loving. If possible, bring your significant person with you, as we are bringing our spouses along as well. It will be a relaxing time that nevertheless it will stretch us and stimulate us of how we can be in a better position of shaping our own future, both in quality and quantity. Our goal is to help you to die younger as late as possible.

We are looking forward as a  teaching team to welcoming you next March at the Sugar Beach Resort in Costa Rica, where the climate is nice, and where the Pacific waves are playful and warm, and where beautiful memories are made and learning takes place. Dr. Hans Diehl, Susan Benigas, Dr. John Kelly
