Marcus Tipton, the visionary Owner of InVINtions, A Creative Winery, is a Colorado native and third-generation Coloradan, tracing his roots back to the historic town of Leadville. After graduating from a Denver high school and earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Metropolitan State University, Marcus embarked on a diverse career path that eventually led him to his true passion: winemaking. In 2010, Marcus realized his lifelong dream with the opening of InVINtions, A Creative Winery. Since then, he has dedicated himself wholeheartedly to crafting exceptional wines and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for everyone from wine novices to wine enthusiasts from near and far.
Marcus’ journey into the world of winemaking has been enriched by a wealth of international experiences, spanning from the sun-drenched vineyards of California to the storied terroirs of Europe and beyond. Immersing himself in diverse winemaking cultures,
Marcus has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed experts from renowned wine regions worldwide. Venturing to the rolling hills of Tuscany, Marcus absorbed the artistry of Italian winemakers, learning the intricacies of Sangiovese and the importance of terroir in crafting iconic Chiantis. In France, he explored the hallowed vineyards of Bordeaux and Burgundy, delving into the nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay under the tutelage of venerated winemasters. Beyond the well-trodden paths of traditional European viticulture, Marcus sought out more obscure wine regions, discovering hidden gems nestled in the hills of Hungary, the vine-covered landscapes of the Ukraine, and beyond. Here, he immersed himself in the unique winemaking traditions of these lesser-known regions, gaining insights into indigenous grape varieties and age-old techniques that contribute to the diversity of the global wine landscape.
Through workshops, tastings, and collaborative ventures with experts from these varied corners of the world, Marcus has expanded his oenological repertoire, drawing inspiration from a mosaic of winemaking philosophies and practices. Armed with this diverse knowledge base, he returns to InVINtions, A Creative Winery, with a renewed passion and a deepened understanding of the art and science of winemaking.
Marcus’ dedication to excellence extends beyond the cellar doors; Marcus is also deeply passionate about sharing his wealth of knowledge with others. As a seasoned educator, he delights in leading patrons on sensory journeys through his meticulously crafted wines, offering insights into flavor profiles, pairing recommendations, and the finer points of proper wine service and appreciation. With each tasting, Marcus imparts not only his expertise but also his infectious enthusiasm for the world of wine, ensuring that every guest leaves enriched and inspired.

Mackenzie, a proud Texas native, embarked on her journey into the world of wine with a fervent passion for sharing her knowledge and love for the craft. Graduating from Texas Tech University in May 2023 with a degree in Advertising, she cultivated a unique blend of skills, complemented by double minors in Creative Media Industries and Media Strategies.
During her college tenure, Mackenzie immersed herself in the realm of viticulture and oenology, honing her expertise through multifaceted roles at a prominent winery and vineyard. Over the span of three years, she seamlessly transitioned between roles as an Event Coordinator, Tasting Room Lead, Production Specialist, and Lab Assistant. Through these diverse experiences, Mackenzie delved deep into the intricacies of wine making techniques, varietal styles, harvest production, and the nuances of proper wine serving etiquette.
Driven by her unwavering commitment to excellence, Mackenzie pursued and achieved her WSET Level II Certification in Wine in 2022, marking a significant milestone in her journey towards becoming a seasoned wine professional. Eager to further enrich her understanding and expertise, she harbors ambitious plans to pursue advanced levels of wine education in the years to come.
In 2023, Mackenzie embraced a new chapter in her career taking on the Assistant General Manager position at InVINtions, A Creative Winery in Colorado. Here, she continues to cultivate her passion for wine making and education, infusing her role with a contagious enthusiasm for sharing her wealth of knowledge with others. Whether guiding guests through tastings, imparting insights into wine styles and flavor profiles, or educating on the art of properly serving and enjoying wine, Mackenzie finds unparalleled fulfillment in teaching and inspiring others on their own journeys of wine exploration.

Kay LatchmanSingh
Kay is the main organizer and logistic expert of this retreat. Her background in international trade and finance and her attention to details will ensure that this will be a quality experience for all. She is in communication with everyone who is a part of this program and makes sure that all aspects of this endeavor are synchronized. Kay is also in charge of participant wellness and takes care of everyone from the time they register until they are back home. Kay is the co-owner and vice-president of Global Journeys. She provides a wealth of experience in travel and cultural connections. Kay was born and educated in British Guyana, moved to the U.S. and has traveled and worked with people in many European countries, Russia, Egypt, South Africa, British West Indies, and Central America. Her knowledge and connections with various cultures is a wonderful asset as she works with and teaches a variety of people. Her vision of providing service to those in need and doing so in a celebratory way certainly is a foundation of this retreat.
Franco Marini
Franco Marini is a professor at the Daniels College of Business and works with the University of Denver on several educational experiential projects. He created and operates Global Journeys Inc., a travel-based company providing personal and professional growth through specialized travel offerings. www.globalj.org One of Marini’s strongest attributes is his ability and knowledge of how to empower human development as it impacts the enhancement of individual strenghts and results of an organization. One of his primary focal points is working with the attributes and contributions of individuals and empowering each participant to effectively break through bariers to achieve a level of being their very best.
