How to Embody Resilience, Authenticity, and Connection Each Day
Come join us for a week of rest, recovery, reflection, and personal exploration in a beautiful beachfront setting in Costa Rica. Take a break and recharge, while learning new skills for balance and well-being that you can carry back with you into your daily life.
- Do you wish you could embody resilience and inner balance while navigating daily-life challenges?
- Are you ready to improve your relationship with stress, anxiety, traumatic memories, addictive behaviors, bad habits, or physical symptoms?
- Would you like to strengthen and deepen your relationships, while holding healthy boundaries?
- Are you ready to create a more intentional life that prioritizes what’s most important for your long-term success and well-being?
We live in such a chaotic, stressful, and uncertain time—and it often feels like the world’s suffering is escalating. Even the planet itself is stressed, by the effects of human imbalances and climate change. How can we live in this world with balance, strength, resilience, creativity, joy, open-heartedness, and love?
This workshop is about learning how to embody resilience, authenticity, and connection—with ourselves and with others—by living from our depth.
When we engage in the constant spin and busyness of daily life, we tend to live in the surface levels of our consciousness, often in our heads. Unfortunately, these are the levels where we’re most susceptible to feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, disconnected, isolated, resentful, and burned out. This workshop will explore why this happens—in terms of our social wiring, the dynamics of energetic resonance, and the choices we tend to make when we operate from this level.
There is a different way of moving though the world which comes from living from our depth—fully in our bodies, in touch with our deepest inner wisdom, and connected to an endless source of creativity, joy, love, clarity, inspiration, and stillness. When we move through the world in this way, we can act with intention, speak and live in our truth, share our unique gifts, connect deeply with others, and serve the greatest good. This workshop will explore how we can do this, through leveraging the power of awareness and the potential inherent in repeated experiences.
We’ll be staying at the stunning boutique luxury Santarena Hotel in Guanacasta, right on the beachfront, surrounded by lush greenery and magnificent rooftop views, particularly from its lavish terrace and 377-square foot pool. Our hotel is a short stroll from the tropical, car-free town of Las Catalinas, with an array of charming plazas, shops and restaurants. We’ll be steps away from scenic hiking and biking trails, with sweeping ocean views, shaded areas for meditating or yoga, and an array of water sports.
During this retreat, you will learn how to:
- Create a felt sense of inner safety and groundedness, so that our minds and bodies can recover from stress, anxiety, trauma, toxic emotions, and addictions
- Use awareness to access inner wisdom and intuition
- Break through unhealthy habit patterns and replace them with beneficial ones, so that we can manifest our deepest intentions and create the life that we want
- Respond with resilience, flexibility, balance, and ease—even in the face of stressful situations, uncertainty, unexpected events, and periods of tremendous change
- Establish and hold energetic boundaries so that we can speak and live authentically in our truth
- Open our hearts to others with non-reactivity, compassion, presence, and care—without absorbing their dysregulated states and creating imbalances in ourselves
- Develop more satisfying and connected relationships
- Deepen our connection with the world around us, so that we can live with open-heartedness and joy
This workshop explores and extends concepts and skills introduced in my book Widen the Window and in the Mindfulness-based Mind Fitness Training (MMFT)® course. We will spend one day reviewing the neurobiology of stress, trauma, and resilience, but most of our week together will be focused on taking your understanding and embodiment to the next level—with new material and new experiential exercises that will offer “advanced moves.” Thus, while not formal prerequisites, participants will likely get the most out of this retreat if they have read Widen the Window and/or completed the online MMFT course before attending.
